Program Description
The Business and Software Applications Certificate—a three-quarter program of study—helps students develop math and communication skills required in a business environment. In addition, students learn computer applications and human relations skills. This certificate is intended to provide students with the essential skills and knowledge required for entry-level positions in business.
Program Goals
  1. Be proficient in the creation and preparation of commonly used business documents using Word.
  2. Be proficient at an intermediate level with Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  3. Understand basic business communication skills and have ability to implement in a variety of situations through written correspondence.
  4. Have understanding of positive customer service and human relations skills and ability to implement in a variety of situations.
  5. Understand common bookkeeping practices.
Career Opportunities

Employers are eager to hire employees who understand business operations and are computer competent. This one-year certificate can help make you competitive in today’s business environment. This certificate can also allow you to continue on to earn an AAS degree. Check with your adviser if you want to make the transition.
